Sylvans have a tendency to shred the clothing provided for them, something that greatly annoys their human caretakers. Sylvans vary greatly in physical appearance, with varying skin tones and facial features, often displaying a connection with a particular natural element or organism. They are Fey, and have a deep connection with nature, an aspect that manifests in their inherent ability to use Nature Magic.

Inevitably, this connection with the earth lead to their downfall after the 2nd Ending war, once the planet began to freeze. A people who existed almost entirely in warm and tropical regions, it was devastating to their race when the very thing that sustained their way of life seemed to turn against them. Thus, Sylvan and Human societies merged, Humans relying on the fey's magic for raw materials and medical services, while the Sylvans relied on humans to for shelter, clothing, and their superior technology. Though certainly not capable of breeding, there have been some rare and unusual cases of relationships between the two races.

Though there is not a typical Sylvan, Thamian is certainly a great deal different from the others. Whilst most Sylvans are genarally healthy and vibrant looking (some even having colorful plumage) and have a generally childlike attitude (despite their advanced age), Thamian is sullen and discolored. This is mostly due to the fact that he shares his body with a conglomerate of necromantic souls that calls itself "Shrill." It has extended Thamian's life far beyond what it should be, as well as supplying him with all their collective knowledge and necromantic arts. In addition, once something does manage to kill him, his soul will fuse with Shrill's, and with any luck, find yet another body to make a contract with.
